Thank you for your interest in applying to the BMO Thrive Academy Los Angeles!

Thrive Academy is a 2-year college preparation program for 11th-graders featuring two, six-week summer programs on a local college campus to help prepare you to get into and thrive in college. Currently, this program is only available to students in Los Angeles or New York City.

Eligibility

Thrive Scholars reviews applications holistically and does not have absolute requirements for admission. However, students who have been historically admitted into our program typically:

  • Are currently enrolled as a junior in high school
  • Earn primarily As in the most challenging courses offered at high school
  • Are planning to apply to a highly-selective college during their senior year
  • Are highly ranked in their graduating class
  • Have a household annual income at or below $125,000 (We collect income information for both parents/guardians)
  • Identify as a student from an underrepresented or marginalized group, such as students of color, first-generation college-goers, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, and those from low-income backgrounds
