Refined over 20 years, our program is proven to work. Our Scholars get into Top Colleges, earn better grades, and graduate to find success at leading companies.

But our program is rigorous, not rigid. Each Scholar’s path to success will be their own.

Students of color from economically disadvantaged communities encounter many barriers that impact post-college career success in the Tech & Engineering field. To successfully access Tech & Engineering careers, Scholars need to learn how to successfully navigate a technical interview, secure a competitive internship early, and understand and demonstrate the most sought-after skills within their chosen industry.

I participated in Summer Academy and took a chemistry course taught by a UCLA professor. The exposure to college-level chemistry as a high schooler allowed me to note before starting college-level courses at Stanford the rigor that comes with pursuing Life Sciences in higher education. My interest in continuing research that can directly impact human health led me to intern at Genentech, a biotech/pharma company, where I made the workflow for engineering mouse models more efficient.

The Finance industry has historically lacked both racial and gender diversity

For our low-income, first-generation students, there are barriers that impact post-college career success in Finance. Scholars need to learn about career options and build industry knowledge and technical skills by their first year of college to recruit for early internships at big investment and financial service firms.

Consulting requires competitive internships early in college – often before our students are even aware of these career possibilities. THRIVE SCHOLARS LAW PATHWAY

To bring much-needed diversity to the legal profession, Thrive Scholars is partnering with many of the country’s leading law firms to create a Thrive Scholars Law Pathway.

Today, only 2% of partners at top law firms are Black. And only 3% are Latino.

The Problem Starts in Our Top Law Schools

The numbers get worse at top law schools. Fewer than 400 Black and 500 Latino students graduate from Top 15 Law Schools each year. That’s less than half of what we’d expect to reflect our country’s diversity.

Our Solution

We invest early in high-achieving students of color with an interest in a career in law. By preparing them before college and supporting them during college, we ensure they graduate college with the grades needed to get into top law schools.

Along the way, we connect Scholars to lawyers who serve as professional mentors, fueling Scholar interest in the law and growing their professional network.

Our program ensures more diversity at the nation’s top law schools. And that means, a more robust talent pipeline of exceptional Black and Latino future employees ready to excel at leading law firms.
